Services and
Referral
Infants referred to PRSS may be evaluated as
inpatients depending upon the type and severity of the
clinical presentation. Inpatient evaluation may be
recommended for infants with apnea since this may be a sign
of systematic disease. The inpatient evaluation requires
only a one night stay in the hospital for a close
observation. Arrangements can be made for infant home
monitoring, counseling and follow-up by skilled staff.
-
12 to 24 hour, 2 to 5 channel
pnuemocardiogram using Respironics Smart recorder system at
the inpatient bedside.
-
Interpretation of the inpatient and
outpatient pnuemocardiogram or monitor downloads performed
with recommendation for treatment and follow-up plans
forwarded to the primary physician.
